Yosemite: Awesome and Humbling

Yosemite with its raw, rock cliffed peaks, smooth, granite domes surrounding a lush, pine filled valley was awe inspiring. The rocks were shaped over 20 million years ago by glaciers and when the glaciers that were over 3,00 feet high melted the valley came to life. What an amazing process. For me it is a feat of science where the fingerprints of the Creator can be viewed at every turn.

It is not only awe inspiring it is also humbling,. My life is a mere speck in the large spectrum of time and space. It reminds me of the ancient words of the psalmist: “When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
    which you have set in place,
what is humankind that you are mindful of them,  human beings that you care for them?” Psalm 8

I did not hike up to this point-just keeping it real!
